BRONZE SCULPTURE “GÉNÈSE” BY SIEGFRIED JONAS

This sculpture by Siegfried Jonas is the artist proof, left in an unfinished state.
The restoration began with a study of Jonas’ Organic series, focusing on surface structure and patina. The piece was taken back to its base, carefully polished, and rebuilt through a process guided by the artist’s original language.
The surface was developed entirely by hand, using traditional techniques of acid treatment and controlled heat. This process resulted in a warm, layered patina, restoring depth and coherence to the work.
Through this approach, the sculpture was brought to a level of completion aligned with its intended presence.
