Yrjö Kukkapuro ‘Experiment’ Lounge chair, Finland 1980s

Yrjö Kukkapuro easy chair from the 'Experiment series' for Avarte, Finland 1982. Experimental outspoken design hence the name 'experimental series', experimental yet restrained with the feeling of a prototype; chromed tubular frame with black lacquered plywood seats, black leather upholstery and playful black lacquered plywood armrests. Outspoken design which can create a nice radical statement when used as a contrasting element in an interior. The position of the backrest and seat is very ergonomically which results in a very comfortable chair. The chair is in a very good original condition with a nice subtle patina on the leather.
