Vittoriano Vigano ‘1078’ floor lamp for Arteluce, Italy 1960

Architectural mod. '1078' floor lamp by Vittoriano Vigano for Arteluce,Italy in 1960. Cubic-shaped stem with intriguing cutouts which create a strong and graphic silhouette. These cutouts create a place for the aluminum reflectors which softly spread atmospheric light, the opening at the top hides the third light source. Exciting contrast between dark matte black structured crackle lacquer and the light smooth aluminum. Showing beautiful details such as the typical Arteluce hand-turned screws at the base. Vittoriano Vigano, who began his career with an apprenticeship at Studio BBPR and later earned a Master’s degree in engineering, worked alongside Gio Ponti on various interior design projects before pursuing his own path as an architect. Besides his furniture designs he designed interesting architecture such as the renown design of Casa La Scala, designed for French sculptor André Bloc. The lamp is in an excellent condition.
