Taichiro Nakai cabinet for Permanente Mobili Cantù, Italy ca. 1955

Exquisite cabinet by Taichiro Nakai for La Permanente Mobili Cantù, Italy, ca. 1955. Striking design with clean lines and refined details, a mix of modest Japanese and chic Italian elements, resulting in a most elegant piece. A captivating feature is, of course, the unique black lacquered harmonica frame, which creates a stunning contrast with the beautiful, rich warm teak. An exceptional detail is the top, which is finished in teak, while most other models are of an unfinished quality. The cabinet can be placed against a wall, but it can also be used free-standing in the space as a room divider/separation wall. The cabinet has been professionally re-polished to perfection and therefore remains in excellent condition.
