Soriana Three Seater Sofa in Cognac leather by Afra & Tobia Scarpa, Italy 1969

Large three seater Soriana sofa by Afra & Tobia Scarpa for Cassina, Italy 1969. This is the largest sofa from the 'Soriana' series. The sofa still has it’s original cognac leather upholstery which is giving it a rich warm appearance. The original foam still has it's characteristic round and bulky shape. The metal clamps contrasts nicely with the deep warm colour of the leather. The concept behind the Sorina range was to express a comfortable design where a bundle of Fabric or leather was held together by a chrome plated metal clamp. The 'Soriana Chair' won the Compasso d’Oro in 1970. In a very good original condition.
