Sculptural wooden Monoxyle side chair, Brazil 1960s

Unique sculptural wooden side chair, Brazil 1960s. The chair is hand-carved out of one piece of solid Angelim wood, the base is a solid twin tree trunk (two stems) which results in this exceptional shape. The chair was taken from Brazil to France by its previous owner in the late seventies, unfortunately the designer is unknown but the excellent craftsmanship and the exceptional solid piece of wood show its exquisite quality. The beautiful organic shapes create a perfect seat. The wood has a magnificent patina showing the age and story of this object. In good original condition.
