Pair of Large ‘Tale’ stools by Ilmari Tapiovaara, 1950s

Rare early pair of 'Tale' stools by by Ilmari Tapiovaara for Asko, Finland circa 1953. Exceptional (and surprisingly) large stools in a fantastic 'free form'. The stools are made of a solid Birch wooden trip[od base and a plectrum shaped curved plywood seat. Very decorative and playful sculptural objects. In excellent condition.
