Fundamente Nerone Ceccarelli wooden sculpture Gruppo NP2 Nerone & Patuzzi

Nerone Ceccarelli unique Constructivist Sculpture, Italy 1979

Unique abstract sculpture by Nerone Ceccarelli (1937–1996), Italy 1979. A distinguished work showcasing a composition of geometric forms in Nerone’s signature Constructivist style. Refined in its style, material, and articulation. Born Giovanni Ceccarelli, the artist became better known as Nerone—a name given to him in reference to his lifelong fascination with fire. The exploration of geometric form was central throughout his oeuvre: rigorous geometric abstraction defines both his sculptures and reliefs, always conceived in dialogue with architecture. Nerone became a well-known artist through his collaboration with Giancarlo Patuzzi, with whom he founded Gruppo NP2 in 1962. The collective was celebrated for its artistic achievements and has become highly appreciated and sought after in recent years. From 1974–75 onwards Nerone continued independently, this sculpture was created for a special exhibition dedicated to unique sculptural works. Provenance: coming from an important private collection in Turin. The collector, an architect of note, was both a private collector and a commissioner of Nerone’s works for several of his architectural projects. Signed at the top: Nerone ‘79. Accompanied by a certificate of authenticity from the Nerone Giovanni Ceccarelli Archive. In excellent condition.
