Methacrylate light sculpture “Ruota Luminiosa” by Ugo La Pietra

Methacrylate Light Sculpture "Ruota Luminiosa" by Ugo La Pietra (1938). A striking light object composed of a heavy, solid piece of methacrylate with a circular drilled pattern, functioning both aesthetically and as a diffuser. This is a limited production of six models made by Metea, based on the unique work from the project 'Immersion della Luce', dating from 1968. Ugo La Pietra graduated in 1964 from the Politecnico di Milano with a degree in architecture. During the 1960s, he was involved in a series of experimental activities, making significant contributions to radical design. The light source inside the lamp has been modified to a modern dimmable one which provides warm white 2700 ºK light. Numbered and signed at the back: Ugo La Pietra, 3/6. In excellent condition.
