Melchiorre Bega wingback armchairs, Italy 1950’s

Rare set of wingback armchairs by Melchiorre Bega (1898 - 1976), Italy 1950s. Stunning and exceptional design from the highest quality. The sharp wingback and organically carved armrests and feet out of solid solid Mahogany are the signature of this design. Chic early 50's lines and use of material, refined and out spoken at the same time. The set comes from the directors room of the bank of Sicily; Banco di Sicilia di Palermo, see photo with the original metal tag. The chairs are fully restored into perfection and are therefore in excellent condition.
