Mathieu Matégot ‘Kyoto’ daybed, France 1950s

Mathieu Matégot 'Kyoto' daybed, France 1950s. Striking design out of a black lacquered metal tubular frame and and white perforated metal lining. Beautiful play of horizontal lines and architectural column shaped feet which flow over in the side parts. The cushions are upholstered in a beautiful natural linen which shows a nice raw texture. The matrass has a cotton inner cushion with square segments filled with a loose filling material in order to create a nice heavy loose cushion effect, same for the tubular cushions. Beautiful piece of history in excellent condition with a nice patina on the original lacquered metal.
