Huge 'Cozza' lamp from the "Il Mare" series by Marika Carniti Bollea, Italy 1970s. The lamp is made from fiberglass and resin in a nice warm golden color. It stands out both in its surrealistic approach and in its size. Due to the use of materials and its craftsmanship, the lamp retains a very artistic and sculptural feeling. It captures just the right details without being overdecorated. Marika Carniti Bollea’s designs have a theatrical sensibility, clearly visible in this piece; you could also describe her style as theatrical surrealism. Besides product design, she was mainly known for her extraordinary interiors, which evoke the feel of theatrical scenery. The lamp is fitted with one E27 light socket, which creates a warm glow thanks to its excellent light diffusion capacity. A very distinctive and highly decorative piece. In excellent condition.
