Large “Nuvola” pendant lamp by Tobia Scarpa for Flos, Italy 1962. This is the largest version of the Nuvola series and among the rarest to encounter. The lamp floats in space like a large nimbus cloud against a blue sky, hence its name Nuvola, Italian for cloud. In this largest model, the concept is expressed at its most convincing: the generous dimensions emphasize the cloud-like form and enhance the sensation of weightlessness. Its organic and voluminous silhouette creates a striking presence while maintaining a sense of harmony and calm. The lamp remains in excellent original condition, with no structural damage and no restorations. The cocoon shade is beautifully preserved and gained a beautiful patina.
