Kwok Hoi Chan ‘Lemon Sole’ chairs for Steiner, France 1969 – set of two

Iconic pair of ‘Lemon Sole’ chairs by Kwok Hoi Chan for Steiner, France 1969. Highly sought after and hard to find chairs produced by Steiner between 1969 until the end of the seventies. Kwok Hoi Chan, born in Hong Kong, moved to France and made several designs for the Parisian company Steiner. Although he stayed close to his own style, he also adopted the French aesthetics of that period. His designs are always very organic and sensual. These chairs have a nice thick chromed tubular frame and leather upholstered seat and backrest. The seats offer some flexibility as well because of the free hanging tubular frame. Combined with the integrated armrests and gentle backrest, these are really comfortable chairs. Both marked with the Steiner tag. The chairs are in excellent condition.
