Exceptional set of two rattan stools by Janine Abraham and Dirk Jan Rol for Rougier, France ca. 1955. Fantastic Mid-century modern basket shaped stools / ottomans made of Rattan and a metal frame inside to provide it's strength. High quality production, with many beautiful refined details all crafted by hand. Janine Abraham (France) and Dirk Jan Rol (Netherlands) met in 1955 and displayed their first collaborative collection a year later. To be used for many occasions; stools, ottoman or side tables, in a nice large size. The stools have a beautiful warm patina and are in perfect original condition.
