Rare divan by Gérard Gallet (1934-1999) for Mobilier International, France, circa 1980. Fantastic outspoken design by the famous French decorator Gérard Gallet who is known for his Avant Garde interiors for the famous Parisian elite. This design is part of the French 'Mobilier National collection', the serie is very rare and sought after; the easy chair and sofa are very rare, this divan even more and is actually never seen on the market. The sleek diamond shaped lines giving it a modern appearance with an elegant luxurious Art Deco undertone. Reupholstered in a high end quality mohair fabric from the collection of Pierre Frey®, the lines are carefully reshaped, the original metal springs are tightened again and guaranteed for the future. The divan provides an excellent comfort, perfect to lay down and take an easy nap. In excellent condition.
