Geometric three-dimensional metal wall mounted sculpture, France 1960s. The sculpture shows open modular cubes and primary shapes creating a hierarchical structure and an interesting dialogue between the positive and negative space. The relief, straight lines, crossing lines and welding points results in a highly attractive aesthetic work. Anonymous work coming from an important collector, reminiscent of the work of conceptual artist Sol LeWitt. The work can be placed in the Minimalism movement yet it shows a strong power and a nice contrast with the atelier made feeling placing the work as well in the Process Art movement where the end product of art and craft is not the principal focus. This 'perfect imperfection' makes it a very interesting and impactful work. The work is causing a beautiful play of light and shadows due to open structure and therefore throws interesting shadows creating an ever changing view. The work hangs with a few centimeter distance off the wall on two metal rods. In very good original condition.
