Gabriel Gouttard Abstract amorphous sculpture, France 1960s

Abstract amorphous sculpture by Gabriel Gouttard (Lyon 1927-2015), France 1970s. Outstanding organic free form - amorphous shaped sculpture. The sculpture has a strong polyester structure and is finished with its original structured solid concrete finish very strong and quite heavy (70 KG). Gouttard developed his style into this unique organic language, always without any recognition of a defined shape (Greek: a-morphē). Nevertheless organic shapes can be defined and found back in his work. Gouttard was fascinated by the work of Henry Moore, who as we all know of course, was the godfather of organic sculpture. Work from Gouttard can be found back in public spaces in and around his city Lyon. The sculpture is in an excellent original condition and shows a beautiful characteristic patina.
