Franca Stagi & Cesare Leonardi ‘Ribbon chair’ model CL9, Italy 1961

Iconic 'Ribbon chair' model CL9 by Franca Stagi & Cesare Leonardi for Fiarm, Italy 1961. Unique and revolutionary design made out of molded lacquered fiberglass and a chrome plated tubular frame. The chair is very comfortable due the wide and ergonomically slightly tilted seat with integrated armrests which 'hangs' in the tubular frame with the use of rubber construction molds attached under the armrests. The floating tubular frame provides an ultra relaxed subtle bounce and gives the chair a very open and sculptural look. Marked in the frame. In a beautiful original condition with a gentle patina on the lacquer and the chrome.
