Fiberglass and Leather ‘Diabolo’ Chair by Ben Swildens, 1960s

Rare ‘Diabolo’ chair by Ben Swildens (Netherlands 1936). Made by Stabin - N.V. Woerden in the, 1960s, marked with 'sb precisie meubelen' Woerden. Swildens is very well known because of the three desks he designed in 1966 for the Paris headquarters of Peugeot commonly "Office Max Ingrand", near the Champs Elysées. His designs where always very experimental both in shape and use of material. The base of this chair is made of fiberglass, inside the upper ‘cone’ is a fiberglass seating shell covered with smooth warm orange coloured leather. All in perfect condition.
