Biomorphic plaster sculpture, France 1960s

Biomorphic plaster sculpture, France 1960s. Intriguing organic forms sculpted out of solid plaster with a characteristic structured surface. The forms flow into each other, and with some imagination, abstract plant- and human shapes can be recognized. Although mainly organic, a cubistic style is also used, which gives the sculpture the required contrast and a stronger 'architectural' feeling, reminiscent of the "habitacles" sculptures created by André Bloc. The structured surface shows a mix of tones, while the underlayer is more sand-colored, and the top layer is more off-white. In excellent condition.
