Bernard Govin pair of ‘Elliptique’ armchairs for Saporiti Italia, 1960s

Extraordinary Set of two Elliptique Armchairs by French designer Bernard Govin for Saporiti Italia, c. 1965. Very interesting design of a clean cube shape and a 'carved' out elliptical shape and a round cushion on a square wooden base. The chairs are upholstered in a high quality thick cognac colored nubuck leather which gives the chairs a nice vivid texture and a characteristic surface. The model is part of the collection of Musei Italiani in Milan. In very good condition.
