Bambole modular sofa by Mario Bellini for B&B Italia, 1970s

‘Le Bambole’ modular sofa by Mario Bellini for B&B Italia, Italy 1972. Early edition, which varies from the newer production; the original shape is more bulky and the seats, back- and armrests are nicely curved where the new are flat. Designed as if it were loose cushions, resulting in a remarkable playful aesthetic sofa. ‘Le Bambole’ was awarded with the Compasso d’Oro in 1979. The sofa is upholstered in a beautiful warm cognac leather. In very good condition.
