Alvar Aalto ‘Mod. 31' Armchair, Finland 1930s. Early edition manufactured by O.y. Huonekalu-ja Rakennustyötehdas A.b. Turku and Supplied by the famous Wohnbedarf, Zürich; marked with the original metal plate. Truly iconic design composed of laminated plywood, built as a free cantilever which allows the chair to be supported without back legs. A revolutionary principle previously only applied to metal furniture. The wood shows a stunning original patina. In a very good strong original condition offering a great comfort.
