Abstract Stained wooden sculpture by Cor Dam, 1970s

Abstract wooden sculpture by Cor Dam (1935 -2019), the Netherlands 1970s. Dam studied at the Royal Academy of Arts in the Hague, he made sculptures in ceramic, concrete, wood and metal beside sculptures he made paintings and ink drawings. Beautifully hand-carved with great conviction and is showing strong organic shapes. The quality of the sculpture is showing the refined skills aesthetic eye of the artist. The dark stained wooden surface creates a nice contrast with the soft organic shapes and absorb the light in a deep way. Signed at the back: CD. The sculpture is in excellent original condition.
