Abstract Hand knotted Wall Tapestry, France 1960s

Abstract wall tapestry, France 1960s. The tapestry is hand knotted with the use of dark brown, off-white and black wool and shows a strong expressive abstract image. The work was carried out in an interesting variation in weaving patterns and structures, the weaving is tight but the thick woolen strings makes it quite thick and voluminous. It can easily be hanged on the wall by two screws due to a wooden slat which is fixed at the backside of the tapestry. Signed in the right corner. In excellent condition.
