His style has a strong connection with the work of his friend Nerone Ceccarelli, the artist and founder of Gruppo NP2, Ceccarelli was a few years older than Ponzio but recognized his talents. The forms and style he used used where equal to the shapes used in the constructivist and cubism movement, it has as well some references to the Dada movement.
