“Orque” Chair by Jean-Philippe Gleizes France, France 1985

Rare Orque chair designed by Jean-Philippe Gleizes in 1985. A sculptural chair in which design and sculpture come together, inspired by the silhouette of an orca—hence its name, Orque. Made by the ironworker of Diego Giacometti in a limited edition of 25 pieces. The chair is of exceptional artisanal quality, constructed from welded, folded sheet steel and entirely handcrafted, embracing the character of the material. The surface shows its original raw blue-steel patina, protected with a transparent metal sealant. The Orque chair is included in the collections of the Centre national des arts plastiques (CNAP) and the FNAC – (Fonds national d’art contemporain France). In excellent condition.
