Sculptural globe-shaped table lamp by Gaetano Missaglia, Italy 1970s
Striking sculptural table lamp by Gaetano Missaglia, Italy 1970s. The lamp shows a composition of thick, clear, polished methacrylate rods and a white circular plate arranged against a high-gloss black methacrylate backdrop. This layered construction creates a refined graphic play of depth and light. The scene is enclosed by a warm grey-purple tinted half-sphere in transparent methacrylate, evoking the impression of a captured lunar landscape. The lower half of the globe is executed in opaline plexiglass, softly diffusing the light emitted by the two E14 sockets concealed within. The result is a beautifully balanced, atmospheric glow. The globe rests on a cylindrical base that allows the lamp to be rotated, offering different visual compositions depending on its orientation. In excellent original condition.
