Marble center piece "Voltero" by Egidio Di Rosa & Pier Alessandro Giusti for Up&Up, Italy, 1970. Floating, bulbous, cylindrical-shaped bowl made from an exceptional red terra-colored marble. The marble features intriguing white veining and a rich pattern of various bottom sediments in different shades, which stand out beautifully against the rusty red background. The bowl is polished all around, which makes the colors and veining stand out to their fullest, while the flat inside surface reveals an artistic repeating circular pattern that has been left matte, creating an interesting contrast with the polished outer shell. Only the finest pieces of marble, with the most striking and expressive grains were selected and all was crafted with excellent craftsmanship. In excellent original condition.
