First edition 'Atollo' table lamp mod. '233' by Vico Magistretti for Oluce, Italy 1977. Sculptural design created out of elementary shapes such as a cylinder, a cone and a semicircle stacked together into this Atollo shape (an Atoll is a round shaped coral reef coral reef formed by a sunken cone-shaped volcanic island). This early first production model showcases the original mud green-brownish textured matte lacquered finish and was produced in a limited number, making it a rare collectible piece nowadays. The intriguing finish adds significant character to the lamp, making it a beautiful tactile architectural element. The lamp is equipped with two E-27 light fittings, each max. 100 watts. The light is reflected by the semicircle shade, spreading an equal ambient glow to control with the original dimmer switch. In a very good authentic condition.
