Pair of Art Deco club chairs attributed to Alfred Porteneuve, France 1930s
Stunning pair of Art Deco club chairs attributed to Alfred Porteneuve (France 1896 - 1949), France 1930s. Striking design with royal armrests which floats over in the curved backrest. The chairs stand on Mahogany wooden trapezium shaped front feet and trapezium linear shaped back feet. Porteneuve was known as the carpenter who realized the designs for Émile-Jacques Ruhlmann. The chairs are fully reconditioned and reupholstered in a high quality mustard colored Mohair velvet from the collection of Pierre Frey ®. The original shapes are carefully reshaped, the original metal springs are tightened again and guaranteed for the future, the 'loose' cushions are remade for extra comfort. The chairs very voluminous and provide an excellent comfort. All in excellent condition.
