Michel Blondeau set of four ‘verre securit’ chairs, France 1958
Rare set of four 'verre securit' chairs by Michel Blondeau for Saint-Gobain, France 1958. Very experimental and revolutionary design in both shape and used material. This is a highly uncommon model with special square bases which makes a stunning contrast with the curved safety glass seats and make them stand out even more like pieces of micro architecture. The seats can be provided with cushions but we prefer them more radical, even without cushion they are really comfortable due to the smooth curve and high back support. Not only beautiful to upgrade your interior but perfect for daily use since the safety glass is very strong, stronger than plywood. All chairs are stamped 'Glace securit' and show the authentic points from the hardening proces. In very good authentic condition.
