Abstract marble sculpture 'Orione' by Vittorio di Muzio (1924 - 2014), Italy 1977. Di Muzio studied sculpture at the Academia delle Belle Arti di Brera in Milan and was trained by Maestro Marino Marini, he graduated in 1958. This work is sculpted out of Botticino marble (66KG) and shows a characteristic hand chiseled structured surface which is accentuated by the smooth polished edges. Very strong appearance with well balanced shapes and cut outs and an interesting contrast between organic lines and cubic shapes. Works of Di Muzio were promoted by prestigious International galleries and he participated on several important International exhibitions during his career. Work of Di Muzio is among the collection of several important museums and can be found in public spaces as well. Professionally cleaned and therefore in excellent original condition.
