Giuseppe Ravasio mod. 'G999' table lamp for New Lamp, Italy ca. 1970. Very rare kinetic light sculpture from the famous radical design studio New Lamp. New Lamp existed only four years, between 1968 - 1972, and created the most amazing designs in very limited numbers. Less than 100 examples where made from the G999 model. The lamp deserves its kinetc appearance due to the 663 clear- and sky blue square methacrylate rods which can be positioned variously between the two nickel plated metal grids. The rods are lit by two light sources, one at the left and one at the right side of the black lacquered metal frame which provides a beautiful indirect atmospherical light. Literature: Lamps 1968-1973: New Italian design, Fulvio Ferrari e Napoleone Ferrari, Allemandi editore. The lamp is repolished into perfection and preserves in an excellent original condition.
