Abstract hand knotted Wall Tapestry, France 1960s
Abstract wall tapestry, France 1960s. The tapestry is hand knotted with the use of off-white, dark brown, chocolate brown, beige and chestnut brown wool and shows a strong expressive abstract image and a outspoken line texture. The work was carried out in an interesting variation in weaving patterns and structures, the weaving is tight but the thick woolen strings makes it quite thick and voluminous. It can easily be hung on the wall; a special wooden slat with pins is provided. Signed in the right corner. In excellent condition.
