Large Abstract wooden wall relief by Sergio Ponzio IV, Italy 1970s. The panel is composed of of carved wooden forms, the surface is treated with a flame, sanded in organic flowing shapes and polished with several wax finishes to gain the colour difference and dept. The shapes used are eagual to the shapes used in the constructivist movement. Ponzio trained as a painter started his career with painting still life, in 1968 he started with a small series of sculptures. From this moment a precise and never interrupted experimentation on the material and on the multiple possibilities. His work as a sculptor continued until 1975 with wood, iron, galvanized sheet metal, copper, to which were added bas-reliefs in stratified wood.
