French Art Deco reclining Lounge chair, 1930s
Art Deco reclining Lounge chair, France 1930s. Interesting powerful and masculine design made from solid French Oak. The structure shows many strong yet refined designed elements such as the thick curved armrest flowing over in the sturdy straight leg which is exactly constructed the other way around. Where the arm is thicker than high, the leg is deeper than thick; a very intriguing detail. Furthermore the curves in the structure of the backrest, the curved and flowing seat and of course the sword shark toothed positioning element are making the design so distinguished. The cushions are reupholstered, we choose for a thick and voluminous dark greyish forest green mohair velvet from the collection of Pierre Frey. A real eye catcher which is very well crafted, elegant yet sturdy looking and super comfortable. In excellent condition with an amazing patina.
