Set of two ‘Bonanza’ lounge chairs by Tobia Scarpa, Italy 1968
Rare set of 'Bonanza' chairs by Tobia Scarpa for C&B Italia, Italy 1968. The set is an early production from the first years go the company when B&B Italia was still called C&B Italia which started as a joint venture between Cassina and (Piero Ambrogio) Busnelli. The set stands out in it's technical construction and the way the 'Arch' shaped chair is fully covered with soft leather with it's outspoken pleats which points out the bulky design and softness even more. The leather covered seating parts hang in the arch shaped construction which results in a nice open design and intriguing back view. The lounge chairs are upholstered in their original soft black leather, the foam is original as well and in perfect condition and shape; all together this adds so much originality and character to the set. The Tobias Scarpa chairs are royal in volume and very comfortable, both to chill out and to sit more straight. Market with the original C&B logo. In excellent original condition.
