Fantasma floor lamp by Tobia Scarpa for Flos, Italy 1963

Early 'Fantasma' floor lamp by Tobia Scarpa for Flos, Italy 1963. Sculptural yet atmospheric floor lamp made of sprayed cocoon resin around a metal frame on a claver shaped brownished metal base. The resin shade gained exactly the color and patina over the years you would desire for a lamp like this; beautiful cosy when lit but also warm yet fresh when switched off (see last photo). The lamp has been given the name 'Fantasia' which means ghost because of its striking silhouette and the glow of a cloth in the night. The lamp is provide with three E-27 light fittings for balanced lighting. The lamp is in an exceptional good condition, usually the original ones come with small holes, this one is flawless.
