Emidio Galassi ceramic Sculpture, Italy 1970s

Emidio Galassi ceramic Sculpture, Italy 1973. Galassi is born in 1944 in Imola (Bologna, Italy), he studied in Faenza between 1960-1965 at the G. Ballardini Art Institute and at the studio of Carlo Zauli. Galassi developed an unique abstract style and always plays with elementary forms and an interlocking concept. The work is composed of two individual shapes that enter into an interesting dialogue, its finished with a beautiful thick voluminous off white glazing which shows a nice crackle pattern giving the work an authentic character. This work is a good example of his great craftsmanship and outspoken aesthetic eye. The sculpture is signed and dated at the bottom: Galassi 73. In excellent original condition.
