Brutalist Ebonized Oak Sideboard by J. Batenburg For MI, Belgium ca. 1969
Stunning Brutalist sideboard by J. Batenburg For MI, Belgium ca. 1969. One of the nicest models in this genre made out of black stained Oak with a fantastic outspoken deep grain. The repeating circular design immediately catches the eye and is very well done; it's carved out of solid Oak and later brushed which creates are very nice rough and outspoken grain. The cirkels are positioned in alternated horizontal - vertical postion which strengthens the visual effect. The sideboard has a large storage part at the left side behind two doors, a drawer section in the middle and a smaller storage space on the right. The doors and drawers are provided with beautiful blackened brass hinges and pullers. In excellent condition.
