Abstract wooden sculpture by Cor Dam, 1960s
Abstract wooden sculpture by Cor Dam (1935 -2019), the Netherlands 1960s. Dam studied at the Royal Academy of Arts in the Hague, he made sculptures in ceramic, concrete, wood and metal beside sculptures he made paintings and ink drawings. The sculpture is beautifully hand-carved out of rich solid Iroko wood and is showing nice organic interlocking cubistic shapes. The quality of the work show the refined skills aesthetic eye of the artist. The warm and rich Iroko wood makes a nice contrast with the solid raw metal base. The sculpture is in excellent original condition.
