Large Authentic 16th Century Japanese Ōtsubo Jar. Beautiful 'imperfect' irregular form which gives the pot a very sculptural and unique appearance. Stunning crackled surface which occurred under hot temperatures in the large kiln it was baked in finished with a subtle glaze concentrated around the opening. These jars where produced to store soy beans back in the days, they receive their unique character due to the manual production proces. In beautiful original condition with a stunning patina.
