Pair of Junzo Sakakura ‘Model 5016’ lounge chairs, Japan 1950s
Pair of ‘Model 5016’ lounge chairs by Junzo Sakakura and Daisaku Chō for Tendō Mokkō, Japan 1957 (1960s production). Sturdy Oak plywood frames and elegant curved seat and backs. The seat has been reupholstered in a thick compact woolen velvet. Junzo Sakakura wanted "a chair that blends in with the living in the Japanese-style room and lets you relax" and he didn't missed his goal, the chairs are very comfortable. In very good condition.
