Large Ceramic Sculpture by Guy Bareff, France 1969
Unique sculpture 'Deux Flammes' by Guy Bareff (born 1942). Rare early work dating from 1969. The work stands out in its sheer size and exceptional shape, it's composed of two interlocking stacked pieces which is giving it it's name; 'Deux Flammes'. The work is made from clay finished with a black glaze and has a raw structure. Bareff added two light fittings causing an interesting play of light and brings the sculpture to life. Although provided with light it's absolutely not necessary to use this option, it's also beautiful without the light and the electricity part can be taken out without any defects. The sculpture is in an excellent original condition.
