Joseph-André Motte ‘790’ chairs for Steiner, France 1963
Rare pair of '790' easy chairs by Joseph-André Motte for Steiner, France 1963. The chairs have a remarkable sculptural shaped frame out of stained Ash. The frames are executed with a smart metal tubular support for both the strength and mounting of the backseat. The cushions are fully redone with a beautiful off white structured fabric designed by Raf Simons. The cushions are supported by original high quality rubber straps for a very good and comfortable support. Both chairs are marked with the original metal Steiner label. Important pieces of French design history. In excellent condition.
