Large abstract elm wooden totem sculpture by R. van ‘t Zelfde, 1970s
Large abstract curved wooden totem sculpture by R. van 't Zelfde (The Hague 1949), the Netherlands 1970s. Van 't Zelfde studied at the Academy of fine arts in The Hague. The sculpture is hand-carved out of one piece of solid elm wood with a nice warm undertone. Very strong and interesting shapes show the refined skills of the artist. The sculpture shows strong primitive tribal influences with a modern abstract approach. The sculpture is in a very good condition.
