Extraordinaire large lamp by ceramist sculpturer Jacques Ibarra, France 1960s. The lamp shows a mother bird and small baby birds. Jacques Ibarra was born in Paris in 1929. He works across different mediums from ceramics, engraving to serigraphy. Ibarra settled himself with his wife in the village of Mirmande in the Drôme in the south of France, after 5 years of restoring he established his atelier in 1961. He started to produce bowls, plates, pitchers. In the 70s he started to do animalistic figures, animals like cats, lions, birds and sheep made in earthenware or stoneware. The lamp is provided with a new custom made linen shade both covered with linen fabric from the out- and inside (our special request). The lamp is signed at the bottom; 'Ibarra'. All in excellent condition.
