Carlo Scarpa ‘Cornaro’ Sofa, Italy 1973
'Cornaro' sofa by Carlo Scarpa for Simon Gavina, Italy 1973. Stunning round Mahogany wooden frame and thick upholstered cushions. The cushions are reupholstered in a high quality compact voluminous velvet following the original model and stitching pattern of the old upholstery. The cushions are subtly fastened with leather cords to the frame, both functional and decorative. The sofa has very strong Rational architectural influences. This is the largest version and offers plenty of seating places and also makes it possible to lay on the sofa easily with two adults. In excellent condition.
